What you need to know

F.A.Q.

An SR22 is a certificate of insurance. It’s sometimes called an “SR-22,” and it proves that you have the required liability insurance coverage to drive on public roads in your state. You may need to get one if you have been convicted of a DUI or DWI offense, had your license suspended due to not paying child support or other debts, or as part of a court order following a car accident where someone was injured. The requirements for getting an SR-22 vary by state; some states require drivers to carry this form at all times when driving while others only need them periodically (every six months).

People refer to it as SR-22 Insurance, but its just a document that the insurance company provides.

– If you have been convicted of a DUI or DWI offense

– If your license has been suspended due to not paying child support or other debts

– After an accident involving someone injury, the court may require you to provide SR22 insurance as part of its settlement. The court will also order that you carry this form at all times

– If you get convicted of a DUI or DWI offense, the court will usually require that you carry sr22 insurance for three years.

– If you have your license suspended due to not paying child support and other debts, most states require that sr22 insurance is carried for five years.

– If you have an accident and the court orders sr22 insurance, then you will need to carry it for as long as the court says.

– If you get convicted of a DUI or DWI offense, and don’t carry sr22 insurance for three years, then the court will suspend your license again.

– For other types of offenses, not having sr22 insurance could lead to being denied credit cards or loans because banks worry that we won’t be able to

– Your license could also be suspended

– You can drive any car, but you must carry sr22 insurance on your person or in the car.

– The sr-22 certificate is not a license; it only proves that you have liability coverage and are allowed to drive legally.

– If sr22 insurance is not required by court order, then you need to contact your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and request an sr-22 cancellation. They will send a form that needs to be filled out with information about the vehicle it’s being removed from.

– If sr22 insurance is required by court order, then you need to contact your court and request a sr-22 cancellation. The judge will send paperwork for you to fill out that needs information about the vehicle it’s being removed from.
